The 1x2 Fiber-optic Rotary Joints are used to divide the light coming from a single input optical fiber on a fixed side to two output optical fibers on a rotating side. The 1x2 Fiber-optic Rotary Joints - Intensity division sends half of the input light into each of the two output receptacles.
This is particularly useful for bilateral stimulation experiments, where the illumination intensities must be the same in each channel.
