TAIL SUSPENSION STATION

The HTS1000 Tail Suspension Test Station includes a load cell test station with integrated amplifier and DB-25 Interface Cable. The basic principle of the system is to suspend the animal from the precision load cell with a piece of tape wrapped around the tail. A small hook is provided for this purpose.
The software controls the test period that is typically run for 6 minutes (user definable). During the test subjects will exhibit different behavioral escape characteristics including a "swimming or running" method, a climbing method and sometimes a swinging method. Each of these three methods has different force characteristics. The HTS1000 captures the primary force component, the downward force, in each situation.
